Have had a swollen ankle since May. Despite different G.P.'s telling me it was, arthritis, (no pain) P.A.D. (no symptoms) an allergy, old age etc. because if it was B.P. medication it would be both ankles, I have found the cause.
Amlodipine was the answer. Saw my trusted G.P. last week and he told me to stop the Amlodipine and see what happened. Stopped it on Saturday and after a couple of days the swelling has gone and my ankle is back to it's skinny self. The side effects are listed a swollen ankles but there is no mention of only one ankle but nobody, except my favourite G.P., would listen to me about it affecting one ankle.
Have to see him again next Monday to see what he suggests I can replace the Amlodipine with or if my BP is alright without it. I do take other meds for B.P.
