Just signed up. I managed to swim 56 miles last year so will try for 60 this year. I currently go swimming 2/3 a week swimming 1.6.k to 2k each time

I have type 2 diagnosed December 22. I am currently working in getting that in to remission. A lot has changed in that year I have lost 25.5kg (4 stone in old money) 30 cm of my waist (12"). My blood sugars are now within normal rage at 38mmol 5.6%.. Still on meds but that's ok

Well done on your weightloss and your swimming - I love swimming too, have done a few ’in the pool’ long distance challenges in the past-they’re a good motivator. Great to look back at where you were a year ago, another great motivator. Go, you!

I love to swim as well, it’s my go-to exercise. I’m a full member of my gym but generally just use the pool.

Well done on the weight loss and signing up. You must feel really good. I must have another look and sign up myself.

Swimming's part of my exercise regime too, 20 lengths (1000 metres) twice a week, but at my age I don't think I could manage any distance measured in miles.

I used to do triathlons but now concentrate on swimming as one of my knees isn't up to the running and cycling any more. I managed to lose weight and go into remission by doing a lot of swimming in 2022. 2023 was a bit of a hectic year for me so I haven't done as much swimming as I would've liked so I'm trying to get back into it this year. If you scroll back through this section I have put up the odd post about swimming and triathlons in the past. Good luck with your swimming quest.
