Lunch time check of the sweet potato and black beans

Pre: 6.3
2 hours post: 7.5

Not sure how to get the pre levels down, my average has been 6.1 for the past few days with only 1 reading under 6. Maybe this will happen over time?

Anyway, the 1.2 spike is a good sign. I only had the chilli, not the sweet potato rice or chocolate today but still a good 35g going on there and good to know my body hasn't freaked out.

Hope there for being able to reverse this thing.

No stuffing for me - far to powerful a flavour, and roast potatoes - I can't see the attraction at all.
We have a traditional Yorkshire Christmas dinner with five courses - to include salmon, goose and beef - roast parsnips, turnip and carrots, sprouts, Yorkshire puddings made with cream and served with a sage tinged gravy and then, eventually a slice of Christmas cake with white Cheshire cheese.

6.3 isn't especially high.
Even if you aim for 6, that's within tolerance for a normal BG meter.
A normal response is less than around 2.5, so 1.2 is nothing.

I can change mine up or down more than than by running up the stairs.
I can either use the glucose in my bloodstream, and my BG will decrease, or I can have a liver dump and it will increase.
And if I was sedentary, or active before will change it again.

It's no were near an exact science.
Don't get hung up chasing the 0.2.

Again, those numbers look very good to me.

@Moortt don't worry about the actual numbers too much when they are perfectly reasonable - if they were in double figures it would be a different matter. As you are not seeing spikes then it is just a matter of restoring balance over time.
I kept to the same menus once I was under 8mmol/l and the numbers gradually reduced week on week.
Your meter might be able to give you weekly and monthly averages which should show you that you are on the right lines with your food choices.

Sounds very good, and not a high carb load either. But I need the turkey and stuffing for the crusty bread sandwiches in the evening. 🙂
