Most things that I find on the Internet happen by chance, this is one such time.

I was looking at at comparison of various sugars.

Searching further I came across Susta, seems it's only available in the states, but from the nutritional information it's definitely interesting!

I notice that one of the ingredients is Inulin the ground root of the chicory plant (I had enquired previously about the possible use as a part sugar substitute in baking)

It has 100g carb per 100g weight which is slightly more than sugar.

Do you need to use a lot less?

I presume the dietary fibre is non-digestible, still leaves 50% sugar in the form of fructose, so not so good. Judging by the list of ingredients it's not really natural either.

Have you tried Agave Nectar, which I find a good substitute for honey or golden syrup. I get it in Sainsbury's.

I haven't tried yacon syrup which is very expensive but contains 50% fructooligosacharides which are not supposed to affect Blood Glucose levels. Anyone tried it?
