Hi everyone
Forgive me if this has been asked but is there any recognised (anecdotal or peer-reviewed) supplement that lowers blood sugar? I'm T2, 1 x 500mg Metformin after supper.

If you Google it you will see lots of various things that are suppose to lower blood sugars, but to tell the truth I haven't found anything. Cinnamon is suppose to work but the quantities needed are so much that you wouldn't want to eat it (and I believe too much cinnamon is bad for you anyway).

I think rather than supplementing the diet to try to lower BGs, most people here who use diet as their primary management technique generally try to choose foods that raise their BG by lower amounts. Replacing the high ‘empty’ carbs with alternatives that have a lower carb value or slower release.

Perhaps you could post a typical day’s food so that others can see if they have any swaps or tweaks that they might make?
