Is it just me or does anyone else think that the acronyms are starting to get un-manageable?
I have seen so many that I can't seem to work out, my suggestion is that Alan or one of the Mods makes a list of the acronyms and adds to it as new ones arise.
Sorry if I come across as a little ..... dim/thick, insert appropriate adjective, :D
but I get embarrassed asking all the daft questions (it seems like) all the time.

Beat me to it Andy, I asked the same question a few weeks ago Jimbo 🙂

.... and after 40 years (Wednesday just gone, not that I'm counting ....) the abbreviation "BM" by the medical profession still infuriates me.

I suppose BG could get misheard as BP.

But whoever - these days - has even heard of Boehringer Mannheim?

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

(although we had used to rely on them, LOL)

I hadn't, and it took me a few years on here to finally ask someone to explain! I think I thought it meant 'blood measurement' 😱

"Your Mileage May Vary" - means things may be different for you 🙂

I'm always put in mind of something I was told in 1967 when i worked at an insurance company and we had chaps who went out and about to see clients and brokers.

One of them serviced a certain area where there were a lot of immigrant families. He was having a conversation with one of his 'flock' when the chap came out with something that was a complete load of old twaddle. So M said to the bloke, that it wasn't correct. And he replied that it must be correct, because (a certain person) had told him. M said he still din't believe it was right and the fellow replied that this person was eminently qualified, because he had a degree from the University of (place). Does he? asked M - so what's his qualification, then?

'Oh Mister S - you are knowing the degrees B.A. and M.A.?' 'Yes' says M, 'I do.'.

'Well this fellow is telling me his degree is F.A.!'

I bet it is, too! said M .......

Please don't ever feel silly for asking questions, no question is daft, and no one on here is dim or thick. If you don't know or understand please ask.

You are very kind Caroline. 😱
