Can anyone help? I've just been talking to daddy (he's T2) and he wants to start using a sugar substitute in his coffee but has heard that Candarel doesn't mix well with Metformin. Any thoughts on this?

Im not to sure on that one, maybe he could try sweetex, my uncle has been using canderal in his coffee for years now he is type 1 though.....he or you could always ring his doc and ask.

Thanks Steffi I'll pass it on to daddy xx

3 years now bless him he still doesn't get it yet, has his puddings if he wants them and all his carbs I've been trying to educate him but "old dog, new tricks" comes to mind and his gp seems happy with him so what can you do he hasn't lost any weight but I love him to bits :D

You could suggest that over time he puts less and less sugar into his drinks. Eventually, he should be able to do without it all together.

Doing it that way, I've stopped having sugar in tea and fresh coffee (still need a small amount in instant coffee, for some strange reason).

Andy 🙂

He's already cut his sugar in coffee Andy I just can't see him giving it up completely he's so set in his ways.
