Does anyone know if there is a book available that lists sugar content of branded foods at all? it would be similar to the 'slimming world' book that lists the amount of syns per item etc but for diabetics Type 2 to give them an idea of how much sugar content etc.

Finding it incredibly hard to work out what yoghurts etc I can eat as just been diagnosed with Diabetes.

Many thanks

try the carbs and cals book/smart phone app
It's not the sugars you need to monitor alone but the carbohydrates as they turn into sugar in the body.
Carbs and Cals is great, it not only tells you the amount but it shows you various pictures of portion sizes so you can estimate more accurately

Welcome!

Most of the time I use the nutritional info on the packaging, and weigh out my portion carefully to control my carbohydrate intake.

You're already familiar with the Slimming World booke - are you a current SW member? What plan are you following? After the first 4-5 stone, my weight loss slowed down dramatically on Green and Extra Easy due to the relatively high carbs. Red is far better for us T2s because the carbs are so much lower.

Hi Kirst- as others have said its carbs you should be looking for. Less carbs better. 🙂
