I have to take a blood sugar reading two hours after eating, so does that mean that I can't eat anything else until the two hours are up and ive taken a reading. After breakfast, after an hour or so i get really hungry and want to eat again. I'm lucky i don't have to loose weight as its 8.13 sometimes lower.

Hi Marjorie,

Not a stupid question at all. I take the reading two hours after and don't eat in between so that I can tell which meal is having an impact on my numbers and because eating in and of itself can raise BG levels naturally so it's not as accurate if you've recently eaten.

Maybe have a look at eating something that you sustains you a but longer as you get used to the impact certain foods have?

I find that eating to control my blood glucose, having protein and fats with only a few carbs, then a mug of coffee with cream, will keep me going for 12 hours. I eat in the morning and again at night.
What are you eating for breakfast?

Well that's what I'm puzzling about too @Marjorie - if you are starving so soon after your brekkie it is clearly not enough food for your innards - so what on earth do you usually have in a morning?

What are your BGs (blood glucose levels ) like when you are so hungry so soon after brekkie.
Before getting the right treatment , I could be ravenous even after a big dinner if my levels were high .
If they are not high then this suggests as others have said , you need to eat more .
What do you normally have fir breakfast
