Hi all,

I am really struggling with my control. I'm not really testing, so I am just giving any old bolus. I just generally feel rubbish at the moment, and know that I am running high.

I dread to think what my Hba1c is...the last one 5 months back was 80, not great but I have been alot worse.

I have GAD and Depression, and I just cannot find the motivation. xx

Hi BP,
to help your depression and the rubbish feeling due to running high, try going right back to basics and do some basal testing. high bloods will cause your mood to be very black so you really need to help yourself by blousing for your meals.
Most importantly as you are on a pump you need to show you are using it properly otherwise your care team will sit down and review with you why you should still be funded for a pump.
There's a long running thread where people post their blood sugars perhaps join in with that so it gets you into a routine. Oh and don't feel embarrassed if your numbers are high o start with no one judges you and we all try to help and be supportive. 🙂

I was put on it in the first place due to c**p control on pens...it has significantly improved...just have my moments.

I have just moved to Middlesbrough from London and REALLY struggling to get registered to a GP as literally none of them are taking no patients, so that is stressful as I don't even have a Diabetes Team at the moment, other than the email of my old Maternity Diabetes consultant....but she is brilliant...she does work for Diabetes UK, does lectures etc.....I just need a GP so I can get my antidepressants again! x

I will try and find that thread 🙂 Thank you xx

I've no idea really so just a suggestion would the 111 service be able to direct you to a GP practice? Or perhaps look on the net for the phone number of your local CCG and ask who you can register with. Are there any walk in centres near you at all? Obviously you are going to need a GP for your insulin and also referral to a pump clinic unless you are staying with the same hospital.

Haha got there before me x

Come on wake up in the back row sleepy head 😛:D
Hey my excuse is I'd just gotten back from doing the dishes and needed my coffee to hand before I started :D x

Be a bit hard to stay with the same hospital when I am 300 miles away LOL....I am trying a GP surgery in the town centre tomorrow, and my HV is helping out too....so hopefully I have a bit of luck!

I know that I am capable of getting a relatively good hba1c....my lowest was 52! It's just getting there! xx

As soon as I'm done eating I'm doing the dishes so I can get back through and relax with a cuppa lol, if you have anyone else in the house just ask them to do them and say your busy making new friends and getting advice lol if not they'll still be there when you decide to do them (unfortunately) 🙂 xx

Is there a walk-in centre you can go to whilst you're looking for a GP?

Just leave them till your partner gets up problem solved 😉 xx

Honestly not a clue! I don't know how to find out either xx
suggest you put your location and GP surgeries? in your search engine and see what comes up

Ooh just another thought have you asked at the local pharmacies if they know of GP's taking on patients.
My brain now needs a rest.
