I have been a diabetic for 14yrs and in all that time I have felt anxious about it and now it has became almost overwhelming, I suffer from anxiety and get palpertations and I have not been able to sleep for some months..I have also suffered migraines which is almost every day...I work and have found it difficult at work as now I am so tired of it...need help and support...Thank you

Perhaps you need to speak to your GP about this, as it isn't something directly related to diabetes.

Hi Jeanovine,

So sorry to hear about the way you’ve been feeling. Is there anything in particular that you’re anxious about or brings on the anxiety or is it a general feeling?

It’s natural to feel some level of anxiety as managing diabetes can be a challenge. You’re not alone as many have felt as you do.

It might be useful to note down things that you’d like support with so we can help with some specific tips.

Easier said than done but you need to find a job you like! As Drummer says it isn't related to your diabetes directly but your Gp must be your first stop. Then if possible find a job you like even if its less money.

Sorry to hear about your anxiety @Jeanovine

Have you spoken to your GP about how difficult you are finding things? Have you been offered any medication or counselling/talking therapies (eg CBT)?

Would it help you to call the Diabetes UK Helpline (Mon-Fri 9-6) to chat things through with them?

Hope you find the help and support you need. Feel free to offload and share your struggles here too. We understand how difficult it can be.
