Hi,

I look after my partner who has been diagnosed with Diabetes for a few years now. He's been diagnosed as a Type 2. He's been on Metformin which made him ill with side effects, they tried him with Glycacide and he's now on insulin to try and get it under control. It's not like he doesn't look after himself he does but most recently things have happened in his life that has made his depression and anxiety worse but it seems to have made his diabetes worse.

Does anyone else suffer with Stress Diabetes and if so, was it easy to get diagnosed?

Please can you help me.

Hello catladykn

Welcome to the forum.

I'm not aware of 'Stress Diabetes' as a separate thing that you can get a formal diagnosis with. Where have you come across the term?

Stress certainly affects diabetes and blood glucose levels, so it is important to be aware of it though.

Diabetes and stress/depression can go hand-in hand. Times of stress can profoundly affect BG levels and make diabetes management more difficult. And elevated/erratic blood glucose levels can have a detrimental effect on mood.
