Uh, just wondering... we are coming round to the thought that strawberries (plus cream plus sugar) maybe spiking my son unexpectedly about 4 hours after eating them!

On the other thread I've heard from two folks with completely different experiences -- one yay, one nay.

We usually serve 70 ish grams of strawbs (maybe 100, if they are there), plus a slurp of cream and teaspoon of sugar, dosing for around 12-15 grams of carb.

Any thoughts? What are others' experiences with the lovely red berries? (Keep it clean!)

Hi Patricia.

I have had similar experience with Nathan and raspberries....Strawberries he not to keen on although...I tend to give them to him slightly under ripe...as the darker and softer they are the sugar content for Nathan seemed to be higher.
I have found rather than cream for Nathan when eating anykind of berry or fruit salad..I use creme frachis

Strawberries (especially ripe ones) are naturally sweet, so will put the sugars up. I try to eat mine with out sugar, as with most fruit these days. I try to avoid things I want sugar on as I am not a fan of Splenda or Canadarel. although others tell me these are brilliant substitutes.

im not sure what they do to my levels, but i prefer them natural, no sugar or cream - yum!!

Just heard from a mate that she knwos someon ewho makkes suggar free icecream, ? Is that possible, may give it a go!!

Is it possible ?? if it is I want the recipe Mmmm shhh we will say nothing of the carbs involved 😱

Have you tried dipping the strawberries into black pepper?

My friend the chef says it's very nice. I think he could be bonkers or it's a wind up.
