I've had people (not doctors) assuming the Libre sensor is where my insulin goes in as well as my Bg readings come out, and it’s all automated, and when I explain the actual complexity of what I have to do, it’s normally followed by 'Oooh, I could never do that….' I think they’d find that if they had to…they would!

Its literally do or die!

I had a massive fear if needles before being diagnosed but knew I would die if didn't do it so that made me do it. I said to the doctor "no it's a cgm"(probably should have said continus glugose montier) he said "what does it do". Gezz you would think a doctor would know. I've found before most doctors do know what it is.

I assume if he qualified before CGMs were generally around, he’s never had to update his diabetes knowledge if he now specialises in another area.

Biggest surprise was from someone who runs a milonga (a place where one dances tango socially) and has done (and has taught) for longer than this century. She noticed the sensor and didn't know I had diabetes (even though we've known each other since 2000 and I'm reasonably sure she must have been at some milonga where paramedics took me away (I had a couple of instances of, I'm pretty sure, food poisoning, but also had low BG, and at least one case of a straight hypo where paramedics were called)).

To be fair, i'm nit sure i would 100% be able to identify a pump, other than omnipod

Thats true he's just a gernal a and e doctor I think. I suppose in that case his comment might not be that odd(I just thought "well that's a new one") after all you do get tubeless pumps" doctors tend not know alot about type 1 anyway I remember one practicer conversation with a doctor another time I visited a and e. Doctor "how many units of novorapid to do you take" me "while for breakfast I take 1 to 13" between doctor"between 1 and 13" me "no 1 unit to every 13 grams of carbohydrates" doctor "so how many units does that work out to". Me "well it's depends how much carbohydrate I'm having" then he seemed a bit baffled"

Well, they clearly look like mp3 players, so you’ll have no trouble  The bottle top on the arm will be the deciding factor on whether someone’s listening to Last Christmas or adjusting their basal rate:rofl:
I'm not sure what mp3 players you atteched to your self though haha

Surgically attached mp3 - Taking the beats to the next level

In 2016 when I first started self funding the Libre I attended a summer wedding and wore a sleeveless dress. I felt something on my arm and my friend’s husband was trying to pull it off, you’ve got something stuck on your arm Elaine, he said. Luckily, it was stuck like a limpet!

Theresa May stood in a sleeveless evening dress with her back to the TV cameras, to welcome President Trump at Blenheim Palace, and her Libre was visible to the whole nation (along with a dirty mark where her previous one had been!). There were a lot of comments afterwards about whether it was where she plugged herself in overnight to regenerate.

I thought it was a strange place to put an Apple Charger :(
