Last night I have pork steak, jacket Potato and mushy peas mmm mmm mmm for tea.

4 units of Novorapid, nice warm shower and then sat waiting for the apprentice.

Tested at cowboy time 10 to 10 and was 4.5, though a little low, had a piece of toast (bedtime sometimes snack). By 10.21 I was at 2.4 palpitations numb hands and feet and hot sweats.

I just dont understand? was I dropping when I hit 4.5 and I thought Novorapid was done and dusted within two hours. Had a similar situation night before.

My novorapid units is usually between 3 and 5.

Novorapid normally lasts between 4 and 5 hours Di, not two, so yes, it must have been working away to cause the hypo even after you'd eaten your toast - the toast would have been too slow to stop the fall. If I'm in the 4s after less than 3 hours I'll have something like a couple of jelly babies followed by cheese on toast because I know that the novorapid is going to continue bringing my levels down. Occasionally, levels can drop really quickly - it happened to me the other night - and that can be hard to tackle. I tested at 3.3 had my usual jelly babies but then tested 10 minutes later and was 2.2! Had some lucozade and that seemed to do the trick then followed up with cheese on toast!

I hope you are OK now. This weather with all it's ups and downs is playing havoc with all kinds of things.

mmm mmm mmm I love cheese on toast.

This flaming D thing is doing my head in

Try to be good and then sometimes forced to eat way more than I normally wood. Is peanut butter on toast any good after a hypo ? (Not all the time mind lol) x

Yeah I'm ok thanks Caroline well in the d department

- I'm at work sat in a room on my own as in the main office one of the complete and utter selfish imbecile members of staff is playing heavy rock and wont turn the volume down and everyone is scared of saying something cause he is a supposed junior director.

Gonna tell one of the directors later that if the music does not stop or I dont get moved they can have my 3 months notice - that is how stressed out and wound up it is making me feel................IDIOTS..... dont they know I dont need anymore stress 😡

You need to treat the hypo with fast acting sugar first, then if you think you still have some insulin on board i.e. it's less than 5 hours since you injected, a slice of toast and PB after your levels have risen will sustain them until the novorapid runs out. It's very difficult for you Di because you are on such low doses, so it's easy to give too much or too little. Know what you mean - I can burn 500 calories on a run and then consume it again later in the day because my BG is difficult to predict and I'm treating hypos! 🙄

Dont forget Di mushy peas can take a long time to be digested as they are very low gi, bit like beans. When i was on mdi i would split my dose if i had beans or mushy peas as all up front may work too quickly before the peas hit.

Hi Di A warm bath can also potentially reduce BG levels so it may be that you shower had a similar impact.

Hope you are able to get the noise situation sorted out at work
