My son is Type 1, has the closed loop system and is often unwell, he often has stomach pains and doesn't eat which then affects his everyday life. Unfortunately he will not discuss anything with me and will not access any help for mental health. Does anyone have a similar experience?

Has he seen a GP and been referred for tests to investigate the stomach pain?

Welcome @parentneedsinfo I’m presuming your son is an adult? Has he had a coeliac screen recently? As said, he needs to see a doctor to find out the cause of his pains and hopefully solve his stomach problems.

If he won’t discuss anything with you, then all you can do is provide the information and support and take a step back. Another alternative is to think if he has a relative or friend he’ll listen to.

This isn't usual for type 1s, he needs to get checked out. It could be anything
