At risk of diabetes
i posted last month that I had symptoms of blurred vision and random high BS levels family history of type 2.

My GP couldn’t fit me in for bloods for 3 weeks, I went Monday for bloods and the nurse said they were testing for HbA1c, fasting glucose and other bloods. But looks like they didn’t tick HbA1c as I got a message to say my fasting glucose came back at 8.6 and no HbA1c test so this is booked for 5th July now. My previous HbA1c was 41 in October.

I have been making changes and trying to cut carbs but still morning fasting levels are around 8.5. I’ve read on here you need 2 HbA1c levels for a diagnosis so looks like I will be in limbo for a while longer.

Sorry to hear that there was a mix-up with your bloods @Jind44

An HbA1c of 41 is just below the level where they start to consider you at immediate risk of developing diabetes (42-47).

Hopefully your results from 5th July will help put your mind at rest, and will show a reduction from the changes you have been making already 🙂
