Stigma

As someone who knows nothing about experiencing life as a T1 child, but knowing a lot about feeling different for other reasons, I totally agree with the suggestions to look at social media. Peer groups of people the same age as you going through the same stuff can help a lot, particularly because you'll get tips and advice that you can relate to, rather than suggestions from us oldies... 🙂

When I was growing up literally the only famous person I was aware of with T1 diabetes was Gary Mabbutt the England footballer, and that’s only because coincidentally he once went to the same school I went to.
