Hi all,

I posted about my wobbles of late but I have finally become so fed up with myself after falling off the wagon that today is day one of a fresh start.

I have gained back well over half a stone, maybe more actually. I haven’t been looking after myself.

It’s the summer holidays so I have decided I am going to get back out on those lovely long walks I was enjoying. I have prepped a massive batch of my home made soup and am back on the diet. I am also going to make sure o am using my meter properly as I have missed so many tests. And haven’t been recording in my log book either.

I really hope I can get back to where I was in April before we go back to work in September.

Good for you @merrymunky

Hope your restart fills you with energy and that regained weight drops away.

Sometimes life with diabetes can seem like a bit of an uphill slog, but I hope your renewed efforts pay you back with results and an elevated mood that keep you motivated.

Thank you. I was doing so well between January and April. Then I went back to work after a five month absence and life got hard again. I am the world’s worst self saboteur!

You had a lot to face when you returned to work so try not to beat yourself up. You have started afresh and I really wish you well. You did so well before and you can do it again. Good luck and nice to see you posting again. X

Good luck from me too. So important to draw that line in the sand and step over into the new "best you" you can be. Be kind to yourself too though.

But you have got back on track before so you know that you can do it again.
Well done for starting again.

Ps
I love the quote from Gary Shiener
Diabetes has no memory. If you have a bad day (week, month, year) there is not need to carry it over into the next day. Every day is a clean slate.

Thanks all. I’ve been very strict with myself since Sunday and it’s paying off. My levels have been bang in my target range so I am happy with that. I’m intending to get out ad much abs possible and enjoy the sunshine. Keep walking!!!

Well done!

Walking is it's own reward, and if it also helps yr BG control, all the better.

Well done. It is all so much easier when the sun is out

Well done for being so positive. You can do this, we all have wobbles, well I know I do.
