Type 1.5 LADA
So this evening I took my first dose of metformin :( Hoping I don't suffer with the dreaded upset tum.

Saw my GP this morning, she has started me on Metformin...1 a day for a week, then increase to 2 a day.
She is also referring me to the hospital so I can start Byetta.

Review in 10 weeks.

I know it says to avoid to alcohol whilst taking metformin. I am going to Dublin in 5 weeks...has anyone consumed alcohol whilst on Metformin? Did it affect you any differently? I don't think i will be on Byetta in time for my trip so don't think i need to worry about the SE of alcohol on byetta.
 
Just don't go wild that's all,I'm sure you will get away with two ,I've been on and off it for three years I don't drink more then twice a year so can't really see I'm the best to give reply buy hay I'm still here x

Thanks Steff. I just don't want to be away with an upset belly, and if alcohol is going to make me unsettled, I will just have to be refined and hold back...

I have a few weeks yet to get used to the meds before I go.
