when i first went on this i used to have 2 doses a day 1 morning one night then for some reason i started having the one dose 120 units at night. im just wondering about going back to splitting the dose into 2 again as my bs seemed to be a lot better then. do you think its worth a try as bs now c**p and will it make any difference.

Can't remember exactly but I think insulatard, unlike lantus or levemir, climbs up as a curve, then starts to dip again.

The higher dose would therefore last a lot longer (bit like throwing a ball higher to make it go further).

So you'd need to know by how much to drop each dose so they lasted the 12 hours I would imagine. Might not be 50/50.

But worth a mention to your doctor. It makes sense.🙂

Definitely worth looking up the activity profile of Insulatard and discussing options with your doctor. Having 2 jabs per day may mean that you are less affected by changing times of doses, making forgetting or delaying (on purpose to avoid needing an injection when, for example, driving or in the bath) a dose less significant with less knock on effect.
