Was suprised to read they still use corsets for backs!

I had one, many years ago. The most uncomfortable thing you could wear. The damn thing kept riding up too high, so you spent half the day adjusting it.
It thick metal plates in it, shaped to your back - you wouldn't get through airport security very well these days.

That's exactly what happened with my 18yr old daughter. She fell off a horse and sprained her sacro iliac joint three days before we went on holiday, so I ordered her a corset off the net to help her get through the journey. she was led away to a private cubicle at Gatwick by a very nice lady from security, to divest herself of it so they could check it out! it never occurred to me it would have metal in it. The sight of my daughter being led away by security did give me a heart stopping moment.
