Hi everyone,
Recently my bloods have been spiking during the night without any explanation and it’s really frustrating. I was wondering if any of you have advice as to why it’s been doing this? I recently did have a nail surgery appointment, does that have anything to do why it’s been spiking?

Hi there and welcome to the forum 🙂

I don't think a nail surgery would just cause an issue during the night, this would probably cause levels to be raised throughout, stress effects me greatly on the spot, I spike terribly 4 afternoons of the week when my grandad comes for his tea for instance

Are you on MDI or a pumo? Have you performed a basal test recently?
xx

Welcome to the forum @Farida

Sorry to hear that your BG levels have been misbehaving at night.

It can be very difficult to separate the cause and effect of so many inter-related contributing and conflicting factors.

This diatribe list suggests 42(!)

Surgery, illness and the stress hormones that are released can contribute to high BG, though as @Kaylz says, you might expect that to be a more general rise, rather than isolated to one time of day.

Sometimes diabetes just does love to be contrary though! 🙄
