Hi I just thought that I might share some startlingly good news with you.
Early in November I spent a week in hospital and was diagnosed with the condition type 1 diabetic, given some insulin injection stuff, a blood tester, and sent on my way with almost no information.
My HbA1c test result had been 130. I could not talk, walk, balance, and I felt awful.
At home after the hospital I sat there and went into melt down and panic. What to do?
I did as much research on the internet that I could. I found this forum which proved to be invaluuable. I also wrote an App to help me see what is going on and to help me make lifestyle changes.
Two months on and another (admittedly a bit early) blood test.
The result
HbA1c result 46
Kidney function 78 (%?)
TSA, PSA both good
The speculation is that the next blood test in 3 months time will show that all is ok.
My weight has also reduced to 72.3Kg (from a recorded high of 90.4Kg some time ago)
I am so pleased, espcially after all the panic, worry, changes.
However, food now tastes so good. I feel more fit, active, with some energy.
I think the NHS should give out gold stars!
