So frustrated with my chemist!

I was informed by the chemist that in August the green prescription forms will be phased out and prescriptions will be electronically transmitted to your nominated chemist at the time of prescribing or when ordering a repeat.

I hope that is only your surgery Homedaze.

I would find that a MAJOR step backwards, unless every chemist can *guarantee* to have plentiful stocks in of everything I might want (which of course they can't!)

At the moment I can take my script around and ask at each of the local ones in turn if they have whatever is the most urgent. It's very rare I don't get an owing ticket for something or other!

I hope that is not true! I am with other posters and find it frustrating that even though my chemist was ordering for me they would still not have everything in stock when I went to pick up. Ridiculous.

They have trouble dealing with picking up the scrips, I can already hear the excuses if they were sent out by email.

mine already are not seen a green script for ages....... dnt find it an issue

This might work ok for patients on regular doses of medication, e.g. I take a regular amount of thyroxine daily so have a predictable reorder cycle. However people with conditions such as type 1 have variable repeat prescription requirements. My son's repeats are sometimes for just strips and lancets, other times there will be insulin, ketone strips, etc., and less frequently needles, glucagon, and other items. There is no predictability and I would hate to have it in the hands of the GP or pharmacist!

What happens when you go on holiday in this country? At present I take photocopies of my repeat form and can take it to any local Dr for them to issue a prescription. This would be impossible otherwise. We caravan for 16 weeks every summer touring around. I can only get a double prescription from GP before we start. This can't be a blanket situation.
