I had my bloods done on Friday ready for my hospital appt in 2 weeks time, and my HbA1c has gone from 91 (!) last time to 73 this time. I was very shocked last time to hear that my HbA1c had risen so high (but I knew I hadn't been looking after myself, missing doses etc), but am quite chuffed with myself to have it heading back down again.

I know it has further to go, but I am improving my BGs all the time and hope it will drop further as I continue to work at it.

I'm still struggling to get my BG first thing in the morning at a better level, it is still normally always 11+, but I'm still trying to figure out if I am having a night hypo or if my basal dose is not high enough.

Good to hear things are improving so much 🙂 Have you done any night tests to find our what is happening to your levels overnight?

I did it the other night and when I went to bed it was 9.9, at 3am it was 10.2 and by 7.15am it was 13.0.

wow, well done - that's a great improvement!! I still work in old money so not sure what the conversion is but I went from 9.1 to 7.6 last time so hoping below 7.0 this time so we can start trying for a family...

I too am struggling with my basal as I've been told to lower my dose as was having hypos, lowered by 1 unit and I'm not 12+ in a morning!

Hope it comes down even more, but well done for the improvement 🙂

xx

That's a huge improvement, you must be really pleased! (I had to convert them to %'s to understand, looks like you've gone from 10.5 to 8.8, fab!).

You're right to look at your nighttime levels - for my son, once we had the pump to smooth out his basals, he can now be more or less in range for the whole night, rather than high for all those hours. It made a huge difference to his Hba1c.

That's great about your hba1c.

In terms of your morning readings, maybe you are having the dawn phenomenon issue?
