I've been struggling with snacking for some time and have managed to cut down quite a lot since lockdown started. I'm wondering what others do to distract themselves from wanting to snack? I live in a flat and only have access to a shared car park so can't really do much outside.

I have a nice hot drink - a special coffee or tea normally.

I’m a snacker too so tend to allow myself one a day anyway and bolus if necessary. I also find a Babybel or spoon of peanut butter stops hunger ok. Or I go and do a job from my extensive To Do list :D Just walking around distracts me. But a hot drink works best if I really don’t want to snack🙂

Thank you

I go on Facebook or climb onto my exercise bike with my Virtual Reality headset on or just sit down and spend time in Virtual Reality. I find VR or Facebook or watching a comedy on Netflix distracts me from just about everything. Hours can slip away.

After converting back to eating a low carb diet from what is considered healthy wholefoods, my need to food - a constant tension which made me clamp my jaw so hard I have cracked and effectively ruined my teeth, I am now unconcerned about eating.
I do a lot of things for self sufficiency - I use cotton bags for shopping, storage, generally moving things around the house which I make with crochet and there is usually one of those being made, I sew many of my clothes, knit as well. I play for various dance sides in normal times and we are passing around ideas information and pdfs of tunes, links to videos and the like. I have a Kindle and look for free books to download to that - I have not seen it for a while as my husband has it. A while ago I took advantage of free access to a genealogy site and traced my family tree - following the male lines but going back to the grandparents of the wives as well as my own grandparents were such a strong influence on my own development.
With the internet there are a lot more things available even in lock down, and the hours seem to fly by.

If you desperately need that snack try a piece of cheese or natural yoghurt rather than savoury biscuits etc.
