Perhaps asked before, but I'm now out of control, BS 14.7 tonight.
Looking for the best SNACK meals,
Advise please
Also is Cheese & Rye biscuits good??

Are you on Gliclazide @johnoo ? You need to be careful about not having carbs if you are.

What would you normally eat?

Yes I'm on Gliclazide.
Normal eating home made Steak pies/Curries/Food made with Tesco sauces/Fish with sauce & veg
But currently I'm wanting snack meals, Cheese & Rye biscuits OK?

Try to work out how many carbs you’d normally eat for your meal, then maybe reduce it slightly if your blood sugar is not normally that high at tea-time. That way you’re getting some carbs to avoid hypos but also not pushing your blood sugar even higher.

Keep hydrated - water is best but weak tea will do - and keep an eye on your blood sugar.

Currently having glass of red wine, OK?
Also what about Pickled Onions with the Cheese, OK?
As you may gather I'm not good at food!

Pickled onions are fine. I’d say the red wine is fine too but obviously in moderation.

When you say you’re not good at food, do you mean thinking of what to eat? If so, there are some meal planners on the main Diabetes U.K. site. You could also look around the Recipes section here to see what others eat.

My tip is to bulk out your meals with green veg. Apart from filling you up and being low carb, greens are very good for you.

Apologies for the late reply.

If you are in balance with medication and carbs then you can probably add in low carb snacks in between with little change - but it does look as though you are eating carbs to counteract the medication, which might not be a way to reverse the problem.

Drummer,
"but it does look as though you are eating carbs to counteract the medication, which might not be a way to reverse the problem".
Sorry don't understand this!

ALSO, Advise, what do others have with a curry to avoid rice?

If you are ONLY eating carbs to offset the action of the drugs - better to avoid the carbs and therefore, also the drugs. Drummer assumes you'd rather reverse your Type 2 diabetes and avoid later complications entirely than just hang onto it literally for ever till you die.

Some have cauli rice - others just eat it like it's a bowl of stew, others have worked out by testing their BG how much rice their body can cope with, and limit how much of it they eat, to that. The latter is what I do.

Hi @Jean Pollard 🙂

What would a Cod steak + Jacket potato do to my Bs?
The only thing to do is test, and adjust if you are going high.
