HiHi wellcome to the forum
If SW works for you go for it as long as they know ur diabetic good luck
Hi @acc1 and welcome from me too.
I did SW about 25 years ago and it was fantastic, although it's long before I was diagnosed with T2. That was when there were green or red days. The red days (meat and fish) would be fine for me now and pretty much what I eat these days, but not the green days as those were carb heavy. I'm pretty sure SW has now changed the format to include all foods on all days.
As long as you keep an eye on carb control (not calorie control), you should be fine. I put more weight on than before about a decade after doing SW. When I was diagnosed with diabetes I cut out potatoes, rice, bread and pasta which did the trick. You don't have to cut out all carbs, just be mindful of them and reduce what you can.
Are you on any medication? As this can affect how many carbs you should eat.
Go for it, what have you got to lose.............apart from weight!!
It's a well known fact that group like SW and WW work because of the support structure. People stay motivated while they are attending classes and can lose lots of weight. Struggles come however when they stop going.
I've currently lost all motivation and I'm eating like a demon possessed (back to my old ways) so I may need to look myself. As above, just let them know you are diagnosed T2 diabetic and if you are already following any food plan, i.e. low carb.

Hi I go to SW and taken a year to lose two stone. ( to be fair I had ups and downs in that time and others have lost 3 - 5 stone in year) However our Health Centre recently gave talk to diabetics and pre diabetics encouraging us to follow low carb diet and I am in dilemma having paid for 12 weeks up front trying to fit low card into the SW plan which is high in bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, fruit. SW only seems to have one 5 day plan for diabetics that the SW consultant found for me on their website. Unfortunately since the talk about month ago I’ve had holiday and birthday so haven’t been on low carb long enough to see if I can adapt it to continue going to SW. I have enjoyed the support of the SW group but sometimes it gets a bit boring going round everyone in the room to see how they have done. Also I am having trouble trying to work out syns and carbs as they are not compatible. I think I am going to try The Freshwell Project plan which is low carb with completely free app this has free scanner giving red green and amber foods, they have their own support groups mainly in Essex, unfortunately not my county, but looks to be spreading out to other areas. Perhaps you can see if they have a group where you are, if you are looking for a support group, before deciding on SW.Hi,
I have been considering going back to SW.
Can I have your honest opinions please, would you do it??
