Hi, I'm thinking about joining Slimming World. Does anyone know if the diet works if you are on Insulin. Just thinking about the carb intake. If anyone has any better dieting soloutions would love to hear about it. I'm in desperate need of eating healthier.

Yes it will work for anyone on insulin, really can't see why it wouldn't, you'd just count up carbs as you would following any other diet.

Wife did SW & I ate mostly same meals as her give or take, it's healthy diet as it contains lots of veggies & fruit.

Hope it works well for you if you give it a go @Banksie

Let us know how you get on 🙂

Diagnosed with pre diabetes at the end of January, came on here and read what I could on reducing my readings and weight. It was clear that 130 carbs a day and build up exercise. Joined carbs and cals app £36 a year, bought an exercise trampoline for 15 minutes every morning, had to build up to that . 6 month check my readings down from 45 to 40, and to date I'm down 1lb off 4 stone lost. Everyone was quite negative about trying to loose weight at 65 which put me off but with the app and completing it every day its been fine, definitely signing up for another year.

Well done on your weight loss and on getting your BG back into normal range (and for ignoring those who didn't think losing weight at our age was a good idea).
