Could taking a Simvastatin 20mg tablet before taking a blood/glucose test affect the result?

Thanks Bob

I thought statins were taken at night, and the blood test taken in the morning. I think that provided there is 12-14 hours between taking the statin and doing the blood test, even if there would be any effect (and I do not know whether there will or not) that would eliminate chances anyway.

Statins can slightly raise blood glucose in established diabetes, but it isn't clinically significant. Because it is fairly long acting, the effect will be spread over time.

Thanks for your replies, yes I take my station late evening but this can be just before the time I take my main meal +2 hours test, hence my concern.

Thanks
Bob
