Significant eye appointment tomorrow.

Thank you everyone. The appointments at 1.45 and I currently feel like a zombie - not helped by a four hour hypo last night - I had one lot of Glucojuice which didn't work and it took me four hours to find the energy to get another bottle even though I was feeling hypo the whole time. Anyhow I've spent most of the morning sleeping, spaced out on diazepam and have raided every painkiller that I've got (within safe limits). Thank goodness Mark is coming with me because this appointment has got me really scared. Sorry for the rambling. Hopefully next time I post it will be good news.

Hope it goes well AJ, eyes are so precious and such a worry.

I can’t have the cataract surgery I desperately need due to a whole host of factors I won’t go into at present.

I’ve got a hearing test tomorrow (the day before my mum’s funeral) followed by a ENT appt later in the week to see if there’s leukaemic infiltration into my auditory structures.

Nobody said life was easy but maybe it shouldn’t be this hard! 🙄

Take care and hope the solution to your problem is the least unpleasant and invasive Amanda. Those threads you can see must drive you mad! x

My massive amount of painkillers plus diazepam made it not as bad as before. However I was surprised that he lasered the whole retina. He stopped when the pain got too much. Got to go back in a month to see if it worked. Eye is sore but now enjoying wine in the pub.

My first cataract, in 2013, wasn’t picked up by my annual eye scan 6 months before either! I woke up one morning to a blanket white in my right eye & I spent a VERY worrying 48 hours, referred to eye specialist by GP, before the cataract diagnosis: might have been a detached retina! The expedited 2.5 month wait for the op to remove was hard to bear as well!

I have everything crossed for you!

That made me laugh! You're looking on the bright side! My 2nd. eye consultant is very dishy too! I was referred to HIM by my 1st. eye consultant for my left eye cataract as he has more experience with narrow Chinese eyes that exacerbates high eye pressure! It's an extra little incentive to be vigilant & keep on top of things! So, you can keep looking at him during your follow up appointments! 😛
