I had a pneumococcal injection on Friday; my blood pressure was checked and all was fine. However, I've been feeling a little light-headed since yesterday morning; more when I stand up - it seems to have allieviated a little tonight. Could this be a side-effect of the injection. Nurse said I might feel a little unwell for a few days and possible a headache

No scary replies please...I'm extra sensitive...🙂

Hi Amanda,

It could be as a result of your jab as some people do feel a bit 'off' for a couple of days. I've only ever had a bit of a sore arm. It should go over the next day or two. XXXXX

Once I actually got a horrid cold after the normal 'flu jab, but mostly I just get a sore arm (I had the flu and pneumonia jabs on the same day a coupla years ago), this year I was completely symptom free.

Hope you feel better soon...

Likewise. Only ever a sore arm for a couple of days. If ever I've felt a bit off afterwards, I just put it down to the usual "I'm not getting any younger and I get aches, pains and headaches a lot of the time and I'm no olympic athlete and often struggle to match the demands of being an international playboy" type of thing.🙄

Its hard to say. I find it odd that sometimes with vaccinations you get given a patient information leaflet with possible side-effects and other times nothing.

I would suggest if you are still feeling dizzy in the morning call your Dr - or you could call NHS Direct.

I hope you are feeling better. SOme people do feel a bit off after any vaccination and would second the advice to get help if you still don't feel well.

Could be a side effect, but equally, could be a random winter virus. In any case, a simple painkiller thta also reduces high temperature, such as paracetamol (unless there is some reason why you shouldn't take this) should help.

If still worried, then phone NHS Direct or the GP surgery where you had the vaccination.

when i had it months ago, my arm really hurt, but she never said i could feel a little ill with otherwise i would have done😡
plant the seed and thats me done!! lol

the flu jab makes me a little icky for about a week after

Hope you feel better today NTT

I have found that flu/pneumo jabs tend to make me more open to other lurgies floating around as my immune system is occupied making flu antibodies. I'm pretty sure any illness I've had following the flu jab etc has just been something else I've caught.
