Hi im just wondering if i can pick your brains. I was sick thursday night, almost fainted etc and since then not beeneating and drinking much struggle to eat as feeling full despite small diet. Ive been feeling dizzy today but have eaten breakfast checked my sugars and surprised 7.3 after 4 hours from eating.
Ive got steroid induced diabetes due to long term use, previously medically controlled but since stopping steroids have been ok to manage by diet and last haba1c prediabetic levels. Im not sure if being dehydrated would cause rhe sugars to spike or not? Just bit confused as been almost free from diabetes for last few months concerned could be signs again.

If you are unwell and/or dehydrated it will often cause an increase in BG levels so that may well be the cause. Thankfully 7.3 is not what most of us would consider high or overly worrying. I appreciate it is above your normal levels but non diabetic people can get readings in the 7s occasionally. Not eating for long periods can in itself raise your BG levels as the liver puts out more glucose to keep you functioning and or fight infection etc.

PS. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Thanks for putting my mind at rest.

Welcome to the forum @jtwild1

Sorry to hear you’ve been under the weather. :(

Hope you bounce back to full strength soon.

Do contact your GP if your recovery seems to be taking longer that you would expect, and if your BGs remain elevated.
