Starting last week I am carefully monitoring my BG levels and also reducing carbs as much as possible, as well as cutting out the obvious sugars too.

It is probably just me expecting miracles haha! But I was expecting to see a significant drop in my numbers since drastically changing my diet....and I haven't :( My numbers are down and are slowly still coming down....I am averaging 6's - 7's during the day now instead of 9's - 10's when I first started closely monitoring last week, but my waking test is usually still up in the 9's (sometimes over 10) which is concerning me a bit.

Is this just a case of me expecting too much too soon?

I would have thought that is a good drop they are in range. The waking ones often take longer to fall.

@LucyLoo your results are fantastic as grovesy says the fasting can take a bit longer to come down. Just a suggestion but have you tried a small protein snack before bed? This sometimes helps with numbers first thing 🙂

Thanks Grovesy and Sue 🙂 I'm so relieved to hear that my numbers aren't that bad 🙄 I guess I just have to be a bit more patient haha! I haven't tried that Sue, but I'll give it a stab and see what happens 🙂

Your body will adapt over time. Seems like you are doing everything correctly. Or at least in the right direction. As hour Scottish contingent would say don't fash (I think that is the right word)

I would say you're doing great, @LucyLoo, especially as it's been only a week - be proud of what you've achieved so far 😎 Are you doing any exercise, or more exercise?

Sounds like you are doing really well x

Maybe more like "dinnie fash yersell " lol(don't actually know what fash means)

Whilst it does take a while for the body to adjust but those are excellent figures and you should be very proud of what you've done to get them 🙂. Well done that's a really good positive change :D

Thank you everyone for your kind replies 🙂

@Pine Marten - I do quite a lot of walking - we have quite a large dog so she won't put up with no excercise ........ although I'm not sure it is classed as actual walking....more me being dragged along in all honesty 😉 and this will increase as the nights start to get lighter 🙂
