My daughter (type 1 diabetic since age 3) has applied for a provisional driving licence. She is sixteen and will be seventeen in a few days. We filled in the forms. The DVLA have written back offering a three year licence with a letter asking for the old licence to be sent back to them (which of course we do not have as this is a first licence).
Is it normal for the first provisional licence to be a three year medical one? Or have they made a mistake thinking she is older and already has a full licence which they want returned as the letter says?
Has anyone any relevant experience with provisional licences?
Thanks in advance.
