The article is supposed to be about dental care in hospital, but it's actually got lot's of other information too, inc some tables of treatments.

I see that for them there is no such thing as a dietary treatment for T2 Diabetes although people in here know that there are actually 3 of them: Low Carb, Ultra Low Calories and Fasting. They don't even recognise the surgical treatment for T2 Diabetes. Thank goodness my Doctor is slightly more open minded - though I had to present him with the details of both Dr Unwin's Low Carb T2D patients and with details of Michael Moseley's real food version of the Newcastle Diet.

Yes, they ought to mention diet and in particular low-carb.

I am eternally grateful to the Dental Hospital in Birmingham for sorting out my periodontal disease a very long time ago. 2 female students working together to begin the assessment, very quickly identified what was causing my raging toothache for months on end for starters whereas I'd been to various dentists who'd each removed different teeth to no avail, aargghh. (rotten wisdom tooth) So that got removed asap and was fine.

BUT because they'd Xrayed my whole jaw, there was one little bit of the jaw, under gap where a tooth had been removed previously that just looked like a solid blob of white on the Xray rather than similar to the rest of both jaws. Odd. They didn't know what it was and were concerned because their lecturer would be back in a minute and would want to know, and didn't wish to look daft - so they called across to someone else passing by - Ian! - could you come and have a quick look at this please, we're stumped? Ian obliged and addressing me semi sternly 'You haven't been chewing any plastic toys recently, have you?' I replied 'No, don't think so. Certainly not since Christmas, anyway!'
