Sheer frustration

First I need to scream with frustration. If you may recall last Thursday I phoned for test results and the doctor hadn't looked at them. Then when she did she wrote a vague comment. Next day when I spoke to her she arranged further blood tests and an x-ray.

I phoned today. The x-ray had come back but she hadn't looked at it despite it having been on the system for a while. The receptionist showed it to do her after I phoned and all she wrote was "normal". Despite the pain and stiffness that I have in my right hip when I walk which means that I have to sit down after 10 minutes if I haven't had strong pain relief. She does not appear to have considered the x-ray in relation to my other tests or said that I need to see her to work out what the problem actually is.

When I asked the receptionist what I should do she suggested that I make an appointmnet - so I've made one with the nice GP who I saw on Wednesday, who identified that there was definitely a problem with my hip and who said that even if the tests come back ok I should be referred to a rheumatologist. I am seeing her again tomorrow. Why don't all GPs say the same thing? (rhetorical question).

Sometimes it just makes you wonder !!

Hopefully the other GP with look at things properly and do a referral to the rheumatologist for you.

Will keep my fingers and everything crossed for you xx

I think that would try the patience of a saint!! Fingers crossed the nice GP is helpful & you feel progress is being made sorting this out - it must be very horrible to be in pain like that. :( Take care Amanda, & lets hope this doc gets things moving for you. Xxx

sometimes it does help to venture into the middle of nowhere and scream and let all the frustration out! good plan to see the nice gp... some do tend to be more understanding than others... good luck with the apppt

I go to a large pratice where all but one GP and one nurse are great. That one Dr and one nurse, I try and avoid like the plague. Funny enough, they are man and wife, they are both arrogant, niether have time for you.
My BG level and BP are always higher when I have to see one of them.
