Hi, about two years ago I had 'tennis elbow' which is on the outside of the elbow, whilst 'golfers elbow' is on the inside. I went to the doctor first, and he referred me to the physio dept straightaway, the ultra sound treatment didn't help much, but the exercises given by the physio did help up to a point. Then I and the physio decided that a cortisone injection was the best way forward.

Had the injection (painless) and elbow way way better. Still do the odd stretching exercise though, which helps, but may be due to age & creaking joints.

So your quack referred you in your case? wat i shall do is make appt with her then turn up with letter i was given, i wonder which one would be faster lol

Yup, dr. referred me, suppose depends on the area/ppstcode, as you know there are a lot less folk up here in Northumberland so we'll be seen quicker. I would use both doc and letter in order to be seen as soon as possible.

Cheers pet :D

I presume you mean physio, a psycio is something from a Hitchcock film I think:D.
See your GP but expect a wait for an appointment, or go private and pay for it (no idea the cost), similar choice for podiatry. If the BUPA site fees are anything to go by then I know which way you will jump: http://www.bupa.co.uk/individuals/s...ysiotherapy-sports-medicine/physio-priceguide.
More reasonable here: http://thephysioco.co.uk/price-list.html

Of course you could always join a golf club🙄

I did find this article on how to cure it (no its not a scam): http://www.colinmcnulty.com/blog/2008/05/31/the-cure-for-golfers-elbow-medial-epicondylitis/
I was interested because I have developed a nerve pain in my right elbow, exacerbated when I use my mouse, I have found that one of those cold sprays helps a lot for a short time.

Good luck.

I'd suggest going to your doctor first and if he is no help then see about refering yourself. It is no fun being in pain. The alternative a friend of mine did was to go to the hospital who then wrote to the GP advising physio which the GP then refered her to.

I got confused with phycio for this psycio lol.Cheers for this Vic and for the link

Depends on referral process in your area - no idea how you'd find out if it's quicker to self refer to physio or to get a GP to refer you to physio. However, physiotheraphy is usually a very good strategy for musculo skeletal problems, such as tennis elbow - and if it's not right for you, physio will refer you for other treatment, such as medication, steroid injections, surgery etc. Personally, I'd always go for the physio option first, and only consider other options if it doesn't help at all.
