|BevI just read a post on an american site which scared me so much i thought i would share it with you.
A young boy (teenage i think) ate a load of food and cake without testing or doing the right amount of insulin. Next morning his mum suspected he was really low but the meter didnt show as low- anyway a few minutes later he had a siezure! Luckily he was ok - but can anyone tell me what the triggers are for a siezure - is it low or high levels? And what action would i take? Bev
Lots of people get seizures for all sorts of reasons. I have had epilepic type seizures for the past 15 years - they just got worse when I developed Type II diabetic 4 years ago.
My body has been used to running at 22 when I wake, and with the drugs the BG is down to 7.5 - the consultant says my body treats this as low because it is not used to it.
When my sugar is high 22 I feel ill, and when my sugar in 7.5 (which is low for me) I feel ill, and cold.
You can't win!
