DIABETIC schoolgirl Phoebe Parkin has raised more than £1,000 to help pay for special treatment for youngsters with the same condition.

The 15-year-old was told she would have to inject her medication five times a day for the rest of her life after being diagnosed with type one diabetes five years ago.

But this year, Phoebe, of Newstead, was offered a 'life-changing' pump, which delivers a steady flow of rapid-acting insulin round the clock.

The pump, which is attached to her stomach and requires a top-up every three days, also warns Phoebe when her blood-sugar levels are getting low.

"I'd have to find a toilet so I could inject" :( Great effort from the girls 🙂
