Saying Hi and why I'm here

Just a quick update.
I had an HbA1C test done, and the result was 42
I beieve this is considered within the 'normal' range, but could indicate pre-diabetes.
They are going to repeat the test in a few months time.

It's borderline. In North America below 39 is considered normal.

HbA1c is just an indicator and normal is basically the 30-40 zone.

Welcome to the forum @KennyMillar

42mmol/mol is just at the lower edge of the range for ‘at risk of diabetes’ (which as you’ve realised is sometimes called prediabetes).

42-47mmol/mol indicates slightly elevated glucose levels, and an increased risk of developing T2 diabetes. A couple of readings above 47mmol/mol usually confirms T2D.

Many forums members over the year shave found that a few modest changes to their menu, often including some portion reductions of carbohydrates such as rice, grains, bread, cereals, potatoes, pasta, and many fruits can help the metabolism keep glucose levels in the recommended range.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on.
