Ack! Really sorry you have been through this Simon.

Look after yourself and dose conservatively, but I’m not sure it would be wise to stop insulin entirely - perhaps just reduce doses by a proportion or something?

Look after yourself and let us know how you are getting on. This hot weather is playing havoc with lots of us.

Hi Simon,
What an awful experience for you! I wish I could offer some advice or words of wisdom but I don’t take Insulin so haven’t a clue. I do hope things settle down for you and you feel better.
Take care :(

Sorry to hear of your bad experience (((hugs)))
I find the hot weather plays havoc with my levels, usually sending me hypo, so I've been adjusting my novorapid when I eat. I hope you feel better soon, take care.

Thanks laid in hotel room now worried about taking anymore insulin im alone and never want to go through that again

Hey Simon,
What a rotten experience, happened to me many years ago at work. As others have said, this sudden hot spell is messing with many of us.

@everydayupsanddowns has offered some sensible advice. I appreciate you are feeling extra anxious being away from home on your own. I'm sure you've already thought of this, but set your alarm for a few times during the night to test your levels, just to reassure yourself. When you wake up in the morning you will hopefully be feeling much better.

Hope you feeling better soon,Stockport only about 5 miles from me,

I cant advise at all on the insulin side of things, but make sure you look after yourself. You know we are all here if you need help and advise.

Oh no, really sorry to hear that. I hope you've managed to get hold of your nurse by now. Take care.

I'm really sorry to hear that this has happened to you. I can understand that your trying to avoid insulin because of fear of hypos but please don't stop it. If I were you I would still be having my basal but at a reduced rate and testing every hour if below 10. But that's just what I would do if I couldn't speak to a nurse. I'm not giving medical advice.

Glad you have got hold of your DSN, and hope you were able to tell them how much this has shaken you up.

Sooner you can get back on (reduced) insulin the better Simon - don’t wait!

Make sure you’re ok to drive Simon. You must keep testing if you feel like this and are away from home. Hope things settle for you soon.
