Hi,
Can anyone help me with how many carbs 1 salmon goujon would be likely to have? The make is Whitby Seafoods.
I don't want to mess around weighing them out so I'm wondering whether to take a chance and just go with the Carbs and Cals app - 7g of carbs for 1 fish goujon

Their web site doesn't even list them so your best bet is rely on the Carbs and cals or it may even say on the box or bag.
Although they may try to make them the same size there may be some variation but nothing that should make a big difference.

It’s probably quicker to weigh them than to research the answer online to be honest

22.8g carbs per 100g according to the Nutracheck app, so you would need to weigh them. I just leave my scales out these days!

Fish wrapped in breadcrumbs is around 25g per 100 on average for a goujon.
But, it depends on the size and shape, as breadcrumbs are surface area, and the fish is volume, so it's an inverse ratio to size. The bigger the goujon, the less proportionally is carbs.
But not by that much even so, a fishfinger is around 20g.

Is it worth it? I had some nice fish for dinner, almost no carbs as it was all fish with a splash of lemon juice.

Is it not on the packet ?
I expect the packet says 'per 100g' and Gill was trying to save herself the weighing and the maths by looking up the carbs in each goujon.
I’d always just reach for the scales, I keep them handy on the worktop.

It should always be remembered, the information is just a guide, and based on analysis, or calculation of the product recipe.
The standard is carbs should be accurate to less than 10g tolerance, plus or minus 2g per 100g.
But, these are not absolute, if the food is out by more than that, a correction will be asked for, but that's about it, unless the food has been deliberately mislabelled in an attempt to mislead the customer.
So that goujon could in reality be anything from say 13 to 37 g of carbs per 100g.
