Can you post a link Kaylz please? I haven't tried it but am wondering what the claim is based on - presumably it's low GI but that doesn't always seem to work for me!Anyone tried it? Seen it online and quite like the look of it, what is it like? did it keep you stable as it claims to! haha x
Here's one of pages there are claiming it (I stress I am not looing at trying it because of the claim it aids weight loss just thought I'd point that out it just seems like a good alternative to wholemeal) if you would like any more links just let me know and I will try to find some for you 🙂 x http://www.livestrong.com/article/458494-what-are-the-benefits-of-eating-rye-bread-for-weight-loss/Can you post a link Kaylz please? I am sceptical but I always think it's worth trying things once! Mind you I am very happy with Burgen - it's the kind of bread I would choose to eat anyway. Here's one of pages there are claiming it (I stress I am not looing at trying it because of the claim it aids weight loss just thought I'd point that out it just seems like a good alternative to wholemeal) if you would like any more links just let me know and I will try to find some for you 🙂 x http://www.livestrong.com/article/458494-what-are-the-benefits-of-eating-rye-bread-for-weight-loss/

I eat pumpernickel, which comes in packs of eight dense rectangular slices, and I find it doesn't spike me.( and I love it) I tried a more loaf-like version of Rye bread recently, and it wasn't any better than granary or wholemeal ( both of which cause spikes). I suspect it was because it had ordinary wheat flour in it, or it was more processed, to make it less dense.

I'm sure I've got it in Sainsburys as well. 38.9g of carb per 100g, each slice is 50g, and it's very filling, I quite often only have half a slice if I'm having it for a snack, that's under 10g of carb. I like putting cheese on it.
