Rope Bridge
Hi guys, well a week ago I spent the day with my grandchild. It was raining so we didn’t know where to go. I got out the phone and looked for places to go as it was too wet to go to the park. So, I found “The play factory”! Never been but hay let’s give it a go!
So, we went, me, my son and my grandson. Now the play factory is built indoors and has two parts, the toddler part which is on the ground floor and then the area for older children which has four levels of rope bridges, glass floors, slides and tunnels, climbing nets etc.
As my grandson is only 18 months old, I took him to the toddler area. However, my son said let’s take him to the big boys’ area, so off we went. Together three generations explored while watching my grandson also exploring and experiencing new challenges with no fear.
Other parents were there with their children, however as I looked around on the fourth level crossing the rope bridge I was confident enough to know that out of all the adults, I was the oldest and more than likely the only granddad on the climbing frame crossing the rope bridge with my grandchild, watching him experiencing the new challenges.
As we raced down the slide together, I truly believed how lucky I am at 52 years of age. As a diabetic for 30 + years, dealing, and sometime not dealing with my diabetes, I now lead a health active life and I control my condition, it doesn’t control me.
That rope bridge can equate to life…. You can cross it, or stay on the ground floor!
But like my grandson sometimes you need help crossing that bridge.
