Anyone care to venture a guess on my HbA1c? 6.2% last year, which was my first one out of the 5s since diagnosis.

I'll go for the first guess at 5.9

I was going to say 6.0 but Steff got there first 🙂
5.8 from me !
good luck, and I am sure you'll get a great result 🙂

I'm guessing the same as Delbert T with 5.9🙂

Me too . I guess somewhere in the 5. ??? %

5.6 from me

6.5 s your fasting levels have crept up.

I think it will be the same as last time at 6.2 but I hope it's good whatever it is. 6.2 sounds like a dream result to me!

And the winner is....Gail! Result was 37, or 5.5% in old money :D Cholesterol was 5.6 (same as last year), but consultant wasn't concerned as HDL very good. He did, however, say that a rising cholesterol level can be an indication of thyroid problems (which I didn't know). However, he said that my thyroid was being checked regularly (which I also didn't know!) and that it was normal. Kidneys and everything else fine.

We did have a bit of a discussion about how I could be Type 1 and not need any basal insulin (stopped the lantus April 2012) and discussed the lead up to my diagnosis. However, we agreed that it didn't really matter as long as the treatment was working, which it clearly is, and that it is possible to be neither one nor the other such is the range of the condition.

So, pretty pleased that I have got back to the 5% club again after my 'shocking' 6.2% last year 😉

Excellent result - I'm really pleased about your 5.5. Well done🙂

Well done Alan, great result.

Thanks everyone 🙂 I was really pleased as the past few months haven't been great for me, but obviously no harm done to my levels 🙂
