Retinopathy

Just received a letter about my recent eye examination and it states that it reveals early changes of diabetes (retinopathy) which does not require treatment at this time and they will recall me for screening in one year.

Am I wrong in thinking that early treatment now would stop it getting worse. Has anyone else received a letter like this and can anyone explain it please.

Had a letter like this last jan kept a tight eye on my BS levels and behaved by jan 2013 i got the all clear .. Dont worry over it alot of us get those letters just make sure you keep your BS levels good

Hi, no need to worry, early or 'background' changes can resolve themselves so don't need any intervention, so whilst it might sound like bad news it's actually good news! 🙂

Thanks for your replies Stef and Northerner. Thats put my mind at rest for a while. I'll just have to be careful and watch my BS's.
