Received the results for my Retinopathy Eye Test this morning. I have Background Retinopathy. The clinic sent me a leaflet about the condition which states that all I have to do at present is attend my yearly tests.

My BS levels have been averaging 8.2 since 31 Aug. I test every other day before breakfast. Will contact my Dr to see if he will let me have more strips to test more often.

On 750mg Metformin twice a day.

Background retinopathy is very common it seems and may well disappear by your next scan, so good news in a way - although of course the best news would be completely clear! 🙂 Hope you manage to prise more strips out of your GP!

Good blood glucose control can delay or prevent background retinopathy from progressing but even then there's no certainty, all I would say is keep those numbers low and hope for the best when you next attend the clinic, worst thing you can do is worry.
