Retinal scan

I had my first retinal scan last week and got the letter this morning to say there were no changes due to diabetes so I'm happy with that!

Aarrgghh, big eye alert 😱

How did you get on?

Agh an eye ::whimper::

Hope it went well.

It was as previously: a quick acuity test, and my left eye is usually slightly better than the right. (That seems odd, as I have some astigmatism in the left eye...) Then the eyedrops. No worse than a slight discomfort, less uncomfortable than getting shampoo in your eye. After the required elapse of time, a very quick and efficient four scans. All done, except that I asked a question. I have the early signs of cataracts, according to an optician some months ago. Is there anything to do at this stage? Not according to the person I was talking to, who said that there was no interference with getting a clear image. She then said that I have "fantastic eyesight", which means what, I wonder. (For a person of my age/history?)o_O
The day was overcast, and did not need sunglasses at first. When the sky cleared, it was much too bright, and it was several hours before normal unblurry vision returned.
Last night I was reading until after 2am, and woke this morning with dry eyes, the left more so, and giving me a curious visual artefact for some minutes until that settled down.
Awaiting the result of the scan in a few days. (Previous scans from 2008 have shown no changes.)
Thank you for asking.😉😎
